A trip to the zoo

We took the kids to the Omaha Zoo with Jadon and Hallie on Grandma's birthday yesterday. It was a little cool and windy, but otherwise a nice day. Faye said her favorite thing was the parrots and waterfalls in the jungle.

Drew really liked the underwater tunnel in the aquarium, especially the puffer fish that swam overhead and all around us. Alex really liked the penguins and laughed when they swam by him. We also saw the new butterfly exhibit and checked out the gorillas. There were only two gorillas but they put on a little show for us. The kids seemed to really like the zoo, but it is a large place and their legs tired out quickly.

After the zoo we went to Mt. Fuji for dinner and ate Japanese style. We had to take off our shoes before we went in the room, then we sat on little pillows around a low table. There actually was a space underneath the table for us to put our feet so it was very comfortable. It was a neat experience and I think everyone enjoyed it. Our appetizers, edamame and vegetable tempura, were really good!
