Ice skating

We took the kids ice skating this afternoon for the very first time.  Faye really enjoyed watching the ice dancing during the Olympics, so we figured this was a good time to give it a try.  Grandma and Grandpa came down for the afternoon and also went with us.

The kids did really well for their first time!  They could hardly stand up at first, but towards the end they were really starting to get the idea of it, or at least they were trying.  I was really excited that they kept trying despite falling over and over.  It looks so easy when you see it on TV - I always forget just how hard it actually is!  I didn't fall, but I was really cautious and came very close several times!

Even Alex gave it a try, but he wasn't too sure about it.  I think he may enjoy it more when he's a little older.  He still trips over his feet and falls when he is just walking, so skating is probably overwhelming for a little guy.  He looks so cute in his little tiny ice skates...

Here is Grandpa out skating with the kids.

And here is Grandma.
